Howdy, campers!
Camp Hyrule 2004 begins on Monday (8/16), and here at Nintendo Headquarters we're getting really excited about what we're hoping will be the best camp ever.
You have been assigned to Cabin #6, and your Cabin Counselors will be NOA_BRENDENSEVEN and NOA_TERAGRAM (NOA stands for Nintendo of America). Camp Hyrule begins at 8:00 am PDT on August 16, and ends the evening of August 20. Camp will open earlier at 6:00 am PDT on Tuesday through Friday.
When you click Enter Camp at www.camphyrule.com on Monday, the first thing you'll see is the main map of camp. You can explore tons of chat rooms by clicking around on this main map. Camp Hyrule bulletin boards are also accessible from www.camphyrule.com. Click on the picture of the cabins and you'll be able to check out all of this year's cabins. Click on your cabin's chat link to enter your Cabin Chat. You can chat at Camp Hyrule whenever it's open, but you should be sure to show up for at least one of your Cabin Chats every day.
Here is your Cabin Chat schedule (all times are Pacific Daylight-Savings Time):
11:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday - Friday
and
4:00 - 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
A little friendly competition between cabins never hurts, and that's why we hold a Camp Hyrule Contest every year. By participating in Camp Hyrule activities throughout the week, you can earn points for your cabin. On Friday, the Camp Directors will reward prizes based on your cabin's performance throughout the week.
On the first day of camp, you'll decide on a name for your cabin during the first cabin chat of the day. Also, everyone in your cabin will have the chance to design an official cabin flag. If you want to get started on it now, go for it! The image should be 200 (w) x 150 (h) pixels, formatted as a jpg, pct, bmp or gif file. Your counselor will give you more information about where to send your completed design when camp begins.

Subject: Welcome to Camp Hyrule - Received: 8/16/04 10:39 AM PDT
Hey there campers!
Welcome to the first day of Camp Hyrule 2004!
Firstly, we'd like to thank each and every one of you for attending Camp Hyrule 2004. This is Nintendo's biggest online event of the year, and it's thanks to dedicated campers like you that this event is such a huge success year after year. This is the 10th anniversary of Camp Hyrule, so this year we're even more excited than usual.
You may not have heard, but last year there was a devastating earthquake which rocked the Camp Hyrule grounds on the last day of camp. Your Camp Directors have been working tirelessly all year to rebuild camp, and we have to say that we're quite happy with how everything turned out.
As you may know, we've been planning to give away five Nintendo DS systems at the end of the week. We don't want to alarm you or ruin the first day of camp, but we think it's only fair that we tell you that we might not be able to run this sweepstakes after all. Just look at the Nintendo DS factory! The solar panels which provide power to the factory have been demolished! If we can't get the factory running again by the end of the week, we won't able to produce any systems and the entire Nintendo DS launch could be ruined!
Camp Hyrule veterans should recall that this isn't the first time we've experienced trouble like this on the first day of camp. This unfortunate history of sabotage leads us to believe that this damage was definitely NOT inflicted by natural causes. We suspect foul play, and ask that you keep an eye out for anything suspicious. But please, if you see something strange DO NOT try to take action on your own. Whoever or whatever did this could be very dangerous, so please contact an NOA or a Stumpy's Stable Crew member.
In the meantime, it's very important that we do our best to repair the solar panels. Your Camp Directors will be working all day on this, so unfortunately we won't have time to take you on a nature hike as we had hoped. Luckily, we were able to create a fun game based on Donkey Konga for Nintendo GameCube which you can play to pass the time. If all goes well, we'll have at least one of the panels repaired by the end of day. Wish us luck!
Don't forget! Today is the day that you and your cabin-mates can name your cabin. Bring your ideas to your first Cabin Chat of the day to vote for the best name. By naming your cabin, you'll earn FIVE POINTS for your cabin.
Another thing you can do today is design your official cabin flag. If you'd like to participate in this activity, create an image 200 (w) x 150 (h) pixels formatted as a jpg, pct, bmp or gif file. Send the picture of your flag to cabinflag@noa.nintendo.com. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. So, if you are in Cabin 2, the subject line should read Cabin 2. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your work. All entries must be received by 8:00 am PDT Tuesday morning. Camp Directors will select the best flag, and post it on the flagpole outside of your cabin. Once your flag is flying, you'll earn TEN POINTS for your cabin.
Another way you can earn points for your cabin is by participating in the activities found in the Trading Post. Be sure to visit the Trading Post for more information.
Don't feel like participating in any activities? No problem! If you'd prefer, you can just relax at the Pokémon Center, practice your back stroke at Lake Webaconda or get some grub at Kirby's Mess Hall. It's totally up to you!
If you need help, be sure to visit the First Aid Hut.
Have a Great Day,
Camp Directors

Subject: Camp Hyrule -- Day 2 - Received: 8/17/04 6:31 AM PDT
Good morning, campers!
We're pleased to report that your Camp Directors were able to fully repair one of the solar panels on the Nintendo DS factory. At this rate, we should be able to get the entire factory repaired by the end of week! Keep your fingers crossed ...
We wish that we could report more good news, but unfortunately there was another incident last night which is cause for great concern. Three of NOA Mike's prized Pokémon were set free from their Poké Balls and now they're running loose on the Camp Hyrule grounds! We're too busy repairing the solar panels to look for them, so we need your help. According to NOA Mike, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle are missing. Who would do such a thing? If you find the Pokémon, please be sure to look for clues. Whoever did this must be punished!
And speaking of punishment, we still have no leads in the investigation of the solar panel destruction. Please continue to keep your eyes peeled for any suspicious activity.
Also, we'd like to let you know about another opportunity to earn points for your cabin. Your cabin could use a Cabin Mascot! This could either be a Nintendo character, a picture of your favorite pet or basically anything at all. Send a picture of what you think should be your Cabin Mascot to mascot@noa.nintendo.com. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. So, if you are in Cabin 7, the subject line should read Cabin 7. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your work. All entries must be received by 8:00 am PST Wednesday morning. You'll receive 10 POINTS for having a Cabin Mascot.
If lounging around in the Camp Hyrule Library is just too stressful for ya, be sure to check out the Trading Post to participate in some fun activities. It's a great way to earn Points for your cabin!
Happy Tuesday!
Camp Directors

Subject: Good Morning, Campers! - Received: 8/18/04 7:53 AM PDT
Howdy Campers!
As you can see, your Camp Directors successfully restored another solar panel on the Nintendo DS factory. We're now at 50% capacity and things are looking great for a successful roll-out of Nintendo DS systems. We're a little troubled at the storm clouds that seem to be gathering, but our solar panels are extremely sensitive. Still, there's a lot of work to do.
Your Camp Directors will be busy all day at the DS factory once again, so unfortunately the Koopa roast we had planned for today will have to be cancelled. Don't worry, though -- we've whipped up a fun puzzle game based on Pikmin 2 to keep you busy.
In other news, we'd like to thank everyone for helping to rescue NOA Mike's missing Pokémon yesterday. We were shocked and extremely disappointed to learn that it was NOA Shaun who allowed the Pokémon to escape from the Poké Balls. NOA Shaun claimed that he was just joking around, but we feel that this time he just went too far.
Your Camp Directors stayed up all night debating how to punish NOA Shaun, but we can't agree on anything. So, we'd like your help in deciding how to teach NOA Shaun a lesson. If you have an idea about how to punish him, please send it to pickle@noa.nintendo.com. Be sure to include your user name in the mail so we can give you credit for your idea. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. So, if you are in Cabin 3, the subject line should read Cabin 3. If you do not include your cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your entry. We'll pick the best punishment and force NOA Shaun to comply on Thursday. Every camper who submits an entry will earn ONE POINT for his or her cabin! All entries must be received by 8:00am PDT Thursday morning.
Last night, NOA Andy was walking around the Nintendo DS factory picking up litter when he noticed something very unusual. The back of the factory was covered in black streaks apparently caused by an intense heat source. The grass in the area was also singed and flattened in many places. Samples were taken from the scene and sent to NOA HQ for analysis. Stay tuned for more information.
Also, don't miss your chance to chat NOA_Bill, NOA_Nate and NOA_Erik from Nintendo's localization team today at 3:00pm PDT at the Amphitheater!
Oh yeah ... and have fun!

What's up Campers!
You've undoubtedly noticed by now that your Camp Directors have succeeded in repairing yet another solar panel on the Nintendo DS factory. We realize that you may be awe-struck, so it's OK if you pause a few moments to regain your composure before continuing to read this bulletin.
And now, back to business. Thanks to everyone for submitting your ideas about how to punish NOA_SHAUN for his Pokémon fiasco. The response to this request was overwhelming, and if it were up to most of you NOA_SHAUN would be hanging from his underwear on the Camp Hyrule flagpole. Luckily for him, we decided to give him a more reasonable punishment. Check out the Trading Post to find out what it is!
Today was supposed to be the day that we handed out free Nintendo GameCube games to everyone, but since your Camp Directors will be busy working on the Nintendo DS factory, you'll have to find something else to pass the time. You might want to stop by the Old Skool Shack to put your classic gaming knowledge to the test. If you do exceptionally well, you just might earn some points for your cabin!
The lab analysis of the scorched grass NOA Andy found behind the Nintendo DS factory has been completed, but the results are inconclusive. Carbon-like residue found on the scene doesn't match any known compounds in our database. This is highly unusual, and raises many more questions than answers. Please continue to be on high alert for any suspicious activity around camp today.
Also, don't forget to stop by the Amphitheater today at 3:00pm PDT to chat with the NP Krew from Nintendo Power Magazine!
In other news, tomorrow we'll be hosting the Camp Hyrule closing ceremonies in the Amphitheater. Bring some tissues, 'cause we'll be bidding a tearful farewell to another great year of camp. Every year we give out End-Of-Camp Awards at the closing ceremonies, based on a number of crazy categories. Check out the following categories below, and vote for the camper who you think would be the perfect candidate. Please do not vote for NOAs or members of Stumpy's Stable Crew. And hey, show some Camp Hyrule pride and don't vote for yourself, okay?

Din's Pearl Award (camper who spent the most time on the bulletin boards):
Baby Mario Award (cutest camper):

Enjoy the sunshine (what's left of it),
Camp Directors

Subject: The Last Day of Camp! - Received: 8/20/04 6:22 AM PDT
Greetings Campers,
Well campers, we hope you've had a blast at Camp Hyrule 2004. We sure have! Thanks to your help, we've completely restored the solar panels on the Nintendo DS factory! They're working even better than before, so we're definitely going to be able to give away five Nintendo DS systems tonight at the Camp Hyrule Closing Ceremonies. We're going to crank out the systems as soon as possible, because we don't like the look of those storm clouds brewing in the distance.
Unfortunately, we never were able to find out who was responsible for destroying the panels in the first place. Oh well ... hopefully whoever did it was just passing through.
There are lots of big activities planned for today, including a chat at 1:00pm PDT with Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo's Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Also, don't miss the Camp Hyrule 2004 Closing Ceremonies at 4:00pm PDT.
Thanks again for making Camp Hyrule 2004 such a huge success. It wouldn't be possible without great campers like you! Hopefully we'll see you next year at Camp Hyrule 2005. Enjoy the rest of your summer to the fullest, and play lots of video games!
Sincerely,
Camp Directors
