Howdy, campers!

Camp Hyrule 2002 begins on Monday, and here at Nintendo Headquarters we're super-stoked for what we're hoping will be the best camp ever.

You have been assigned to Cabin #7, and your Cabin Counselors will be NOA Megan and NOA Kirby (NOA stands for Nintendo of America). Camp Hyrule begins at 6:00 am PDT on August 19, and ends the evening of August 23.

When you click "Enter Camp" at www.camphyrule.com on Monday, the first thing you'll see is the main map of camp. You can explore tons of chat rooms by clicking around on this main map. Click on the picture of the cabins and you'll automatically enter your cabin. You can chat at Camp Hyrule whenever you'd like, but you should be sure to show up for at least one of your daily Cabin Chats.

Daily Cabin Chats give you a chance to chat directly with your Camp Counselors and your cabin-mates. Your cabin has two Cabin Chats each day. To enter our cabin, you'll have to know this secret cabin password: yoshiegg

Here is your Cabin Chat schedule (all times are Pacific Daylight-Savings Time):

Monday: 9:00-10:00am / 2:00-3:00pm
Tuesday: 6:00-7:00am / 2:00-3:00pm
Wednesday: 6:00-7:00am / 2:00-3:00pm
Thursday: 8:00-9:00am / 2:00-3:00pm
Friday: 6:00-7:00am / 1:00-2:00pm

By entering contests and participating in Camp Hyrule activities, you can earn points for your cabin. The top three cabins with the most points at the end of the week will all earn limited edition Camp Hyrule 2002 merit badges! We'll also be hosting daily activities in the Trading Post, so be sure to stop by.

To avoid technical difficulties, make sure that you have all of the necessary free downloads and plug-ins listed below.

We'll do everything we can to try to troubleshoot your individual case as quickly as possible.

On the first day of camp, you'll decide on a name for your cabin during your first cabin chat. Also, everyone in your cabin will have the chance to design an official cabin flag. If you want to get started on it now, go for it! The image should be 200 (w) x 150 (h) pixels, formatted as a jpg, pct, bmp or gif file. Your counselor will give you more information about where to send your completed design when camp begins.

Your counselor will have more information for you on the first day of camp. Until then, have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Camp Hyrule Administrators

Subject: Hey there campers! - Received: 8/19/02 7:05 AM PDT

Welcome to the first day of Camp Hyrule 2002! We're excited that Camp Hyrule is finally here, but we can't believe that someone actually stooped low enough to vandalize our beautiful campground! Mt. Nintendo is totally defaced, Samus' spaceship has been spray-painted, the Super Mario Sunshine beach is a mess and the Lost Woods are trashed. Even General Scales' Airship has been hit!

Someone said they saw Mario do it, but that can't be right! We don't know who did this, but believe us -- we're going to find out. In the meantime, we're going to start cleaning things up around here. You can help us clean up General Scales' Airship by playing a cool game inspired by Star Fox Adventures for Nintendo GameCube. It's hidden somewhere in Camp. Can you find it? If enough campers successfully complete the game, Fox's face on Mt. Rushmore will be clean tomorrow.

Don't forget! Today is the day that you and your cabin-mates can name your cabin. Bring your ideas to your first Cabin Chat of the day to vote for the best name. By naming your cabin, you'll earn FIVE POINTS for your cabin. The top three cabins on the last day of camp will win Camp Hyrule merit badges.

Another thing you can do today is design your official cabin flag. If you'd like to participate in this activity, create an image 200 (w) x 150 (h) pixels formatted as a jpg, pct, bmp or gif file. Send the picture of your flag to cabinflag@camphyrule.com. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your work. All entries must be received by 8:00 am PDT Tuesday morning. Camp Directors will select the best flag, and post it on the flagpole outside of your cabin. Once your flag is flying, you'll earn TEN POINTS for your cabin.

Another way you can earn points for your cabin is by participating in the activities found in the Trading Post. Be sure to visit the Trading Post for more information.

Don't feel like participating in any activities? No problem! If you'd prefer, you can just relax at Yoshi's Island, practice your high dives at Lake Webaconda or get some grub at Kirby's Mess Hall. It's totally up to you!

If you need help, be sure to visit the First Aid Hut.

Have a Great Day,

Camp Directors

Subject: Important Anouncement - Received: 8/19/02 7:33 AM PDT

Good Morning Campers.

This is an official announcement from your Camp Hyrule Directors. Please be advised that no camper -- under ANY circumstances -- is permitted into their Cabin Lofts.

Each cabin has a boarded-up loft which is to remain locked throughout the entire week. Any camper found tampering with or exploring near any Cabin Loft will be immediately expelled from Camp Hyrule 2002.

We do not mean to cause alarm. If the rules are followed, we can avoid any unnecessary ... incidents.

Thank you.

Camp Directors.

Subject: Another Great Day of Camp - Received: 8/20/02 9:51 AM PDT

Good morning, campers!

Despite all of the garbage piled up everywhere, yesterday was a great day of camp! Hopefully you've had the chance to make a lot of new friends and explore new places. Thanks to everyone who helped to clean up General Scales' Airship -- Star Fox's face on Mt. Nintendo has been cleaned up as a result! We're still clueless about who's responsible for this, but we're working on it. If you have any ideas about who it could be, please let your Cabin Counselors know during your Cabin Chat.

Today, we'd like everyone to focus their attention on cleaning up Samus' spaceship. Click on the chat banner showing Samus' spaceship to play a game inspired by Metroid Prime for Nintendo GameCube. If enough campers are able to repair Samus' ship, her face on Mt. Nintendo will be clean tomorrow. Good luck!

If lounging on the beach is just too stressful for ya, be sure to check out the Trading Post to participate in some fun activities. It's a great way to earn points for your cabin!

Happy Tuesday!

Camp Directors

Greetings Campers

Despite our warnings yesterday, it appears that SOME campers simply cannot follow directions. Last night, four campers from a cabin which will remain anonymous attempted to sneak into their Cabin Loft.

Armed with a camera, the rebellious group was reportedly attempting to photograph a creature called the "Loft Monster." We have heard rumors of such a creature, but would like to assure all campers that it most certainly does NOT exist.

Three of the four campers have been expelled. The fourth camper was ... well let's just say that the fourth camper is unaccounted for.

You've undoubtedly heard rumors that the group of rogue campers was able to photograph the Loft Monster. After careful analysis, we've determined that the photo is most assuredly fake. To prove it, we've posted the "Loft Monster" picture in the Trading Post. You can see it for yourself whenever you'd like.

Let those four campers be an example to you all. For your own safety, please do not approach your Cabin Loft!

Howdy Campers!

We hope you've been having fun at Camp so far. Things are definitely looking better around here -- Mt. Nintendo is half-clean! Let's keep up the good work by focusing our attention on all that sludge covering the Lost Woods. Click on the chat banner with the searchlights to play a game inspired by The Legend of Zelda for Nintendo GameCube. If enough campers help Link make it through the courtyard, his face on Mt. Nintendo will be clean tomorrow. Let's do it!

Also, we'd like to let you know about another opportunity to earn points for your cabin. Your cabin could use a Cabin Mascot! This could either be a Nintendo character, a picture of your favorite dog or basically anything at all. Send a picture of what you think should be your Cabin Mascot to mascot@camphyrule.com. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your work. All entries must be received by 8:00 am PST Thursday morning.

You'll earn 10 POINTS for having a Cabin Mascot!

Be careful out there!

Subject: Loft Monster Alert - Received: 8/21/02 9:50 AM PDT

Hello Campers,

It is with great regret and sorrow-filled hearts that we report the following. NOA Dano, famed scribe who selflessly penned myriad Ask Dan articles, was discovered missing this morning.

NOA Dano, who has been an inspiring presence at each and every Camp Hyrule, was last seen approaching the loft of Cabin 7 last evening. Dano was attempting to disprove the Loft Monster theory, but his endeavors have actually done just the opposite.

Now, even your Camp Directors cannot deny that something is afoot in the lofts of our cabins. The only thing NOA Dano left behind was a camera. We developed the film and discovered a blurry picture of what we can only assume is the fabled Loft Monster.

Please visit the Trading Post to take a look at NOA Dano's picture. If we can figure out what it is, then perhaps we can capture it.

Please be careful.

Subject: Loft Monster Update - Received: 8/22/02 9:59 AM PDT

Yesterday afternoon, your Camp Directors finally decided to do something about this Loft Monster problem we've been having. We all got together, gathered our courage, then barged into the loft of Cabin 2. We actually didn't find anything there, but an ambitious camper from Cabin 10 bravely ventured near her own loft and snapped a nearly perfect picture of the elusive Loft Monster!

Visit the Trading Post to check it out. If you think you know the identity of the Loft Monster, send your guess to loftmonster@camphyrule.com by 8:00 am PDT tomorrow. IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin number in the subject line. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive credit for your guess. We'll earn ONE POINT for our cabin for each correct answer. You're only allowed to send one guess to this address, so make sure you get it right the first time.

Thank you for your help, and please continue to be cautious around the loft until the Loft Monster is safely captured.

Everyone did a great job cleaning up the Lost Woods, so now there's just one more area of Camp Hyrule
to clean up: Super Mario Sunshine Beach. Click on the chat banner with the palm trees to play a game
inspired by Super Mario Sunshine for Nintendo GameCube. If enough campers complete the game, then all
of Camp Hyrule will return to normal!

Tomorrow's the last day of camp, and we still haven't found out who is responsible for all this mess!
Oh well ... at least there haven't been any new vandalism outbreaks. Maybe we'll catch the culprit
tomorrow.

One thing's for sure, though. Tomorrow we'll be hosting the Camp Hyrule closing ceremonies in the
Amphitheater. Bring some tissues, 'cause we'll be bidding a tearful farewell to another great year of
camp. Every year we give out End-Of-Camp Awards at the closing ceremonies, based on a number of crazy
categories. Check out the following categories below, and vote for the camper who you think would be
the perfect candidate. And hey, show some Camp Hyrule pride and don't vote for yourself, okay?

TriForce Award (camper who spent the most time in chat):
Baby Mario Award (cutest camper):
Tingle Award (funniest camper):
Paper Mario Award (best artist):
Miyamoto Award (best name):
Nintendo Power Award (most knowledgeable about video games):
Candy Kong Award (friendliest camper):
Samus Award (camper who spent the most time in Samus' spaceship):
Bowser Award (biggest troublemaker):
Mario Award (most helpful camper):
Stumpy Award (most knowledgeable about Camp Hyrule history):
Mushroom Award (most loyal to Nintendo GameCube):
Sonic Award (fastest typer):
Luigi Award (best speller):
Koopa Award (worst speller):
Seven Stars Award (most knowledgeable RPG gamer):
Gannon Award (most likely to type in ALL CAPS!!):
Toad Award (most sportsman-like):
Chuck Quizmo Award (deepest thinker):
Hyper Cleft Award (most obscure references):
Mewtwo Award (most confusing camper):

Send your nominations to awards@camphyrule.com by 8:00 am PST tomorrow. Every camper who votes will
earn one point for his/her cabin (one entry per camper). IMPORTANT!! Be sure to include your cabin
number in the subject line. If you do not include you cabin number, your cabin will not receive
credit for your entry.

Enjoy the sunshine,

Camp Directors

Subject: Happy Friday! - Received: 8/23/02 8:24 AM PDT

Greetings Campers,

Great news! Thanks to your help, Camp Hyrule is now sparkling clean! Even though we never caught the culprit, we're more than happy to have everything looking so good. It is with great pleasure that we are finally able to wish everyone a happy last day of camp. In past years, things were generally pretty chaotic on the last day.

We'd like everyone to meet in the Amphitheater today at 4:00pm PDT for the Camp Hyrule closing ceremonies. At the ceremonies we're going to announce the winners of the End-Of-Camp Awards and announce the names of the cabins with the most points. This is the grand finale for Camp Hyrule, so you definitely don't want to miss it.

We've had a ton of fun this week, and we hope that you've had a good time as well. Hopefully, we'll see you next year at Camp Hyrule 2003! Enjoy the rest of your summer to the fullest!

Sincerely,

Camp Directors
